    Mike’s experience and willingness began at the young age 17 in San Diego California. It’s funny today when I think of being a business owner & how it all started. My love for cars has always been a part of my life – taking things apart & knowing what to do with them next. I bought my first vehicle, a 1955 Chevy truck, 15 years old, before I had my license. With that truck, I did a complete “ground up” restoration, lifted it 14”, made it 4x4 and showed at the San Diego Car Show. Took Second Overall in the Truck Class.

    Mike embodies an entrepreneurial spirit and has established base roots in the automotive industry for over 43 years. He started his apprenticeship with a local tire store in San Diego California. His experience directed him on to Goodyear tire as he worked his way to be one of the best and top producing technicians mastering suspension, brakes, alignment, Cooling systems, air condition, and smog while going to school to become ASE certified in all areas, Mike then worked at several dealerships Nissan, Honda, Toyota, and Chrysler and with all his knowledge he decided to go into business for himself. In 1980, at home in his driveway Anywhere Automotive was actually started.

    Anywhere Automotive was officially opened for business first in Southern California and then moving and reestablishing the business to Concord California in December 1988. Starting with a single employee, leasing a 1,000 square foot building, it wasn’t long before more space was needed to expand and hire employees. Anywhere Automotive is a highly successful and progressive automotive business today. Serving all its customers with the highest level of customer satisfactions while providing outstanding service on all your automotive needs for over 30 years!

    I have been a Customer of Anywhere Auto for over 20 years. I had been referred to them initially when I had a job transfer to the Bay Area.My Toyota 4-Runner’s engine had died, I was under warranty, yet The Dealership was not honoring the warranty, telling me that I would be responsible to pay excessive repairs & giving me the run around. As a single Woman in a Car Crisis, with very little resources, I felt very intimidated. A Friend suggested I contact Mike Babcock of Anywhere Auto. He not only advised me of how the Dealership was in the wrong but went to bat with them & the Warranty Company. He soon discovered that there had been repeat instances of the same issue with Toyota 4-Runner’s Engines due to a faulty design & that they had been recalled. He not only was able to replace the Engine but had the Warranty Company foot the bill with no out of pocket expense to me. Anywhere Auto is not only reliable & dependable, they are honest & trust worthy. Several years have passed, and though I am no longer in the Bay area, & have yet a different car, I still continue contact them for advice about my car. I think Mike Babcock is the Car Whisper, as I will describe the problem I am having with my car over the phone & he is always RIGHT! He just saved me $950 on my car this week. When My Ford Explorer repeatedly hesitated to start, I was told I needed a new Fuel Pump. I called Mike & explained the various estimates which were $900 to $950.     I love Anywhere Automotive!!! They have serviced my 2001 Honda Civic and my 2005 Chevy Equinox for over 2 years. At one point the shocks on my Honda needed replaced. I had shopped around for a fair price, and was quoted some totally outrageous amounts. I called Anywhere Automotive and spoke to the owner, Mike, who was very friend and patient with me and explained the uniqueness of my Honda model and that it required more work than in other models to replace the shocks, but he still quoted me a fair and budget friendly price. They did a great job and quickly. They do great work, will drive you to and from work ( within a reasonable distance from the shop) if you need it so you don’t have to wait around at the shop. They are always fast, friendly, professional and you can’t beat their prices. I totally recommend their services. I live an hour from their shop, but I don’t mind driving the distance to get excellent customer service and great prices. They have also done oil changes, brakes, and changed spark plugs, and lots more.

    Recently my car died while I was driving, and I had to have it towed to the repair shop. When it died on me, I did not know what shop to take it to, and I called several shops to interview them first before calling the tow truck. When I called Anywhere Automotive, the owner, Mike, answered the phone, and he really impressed me with his knowledge and customer service skills. I did not know what was wrong with my car at the time, and none of the other shops that I contacted would work on my car (it is a Suzuki SUV, and there are no dealers close by). Mike and his staff were very courteous and professional, and they really impressed me with their knowledge of cars. They gave me a good price for the work and kept to their estimates. In addition, they were patient about answering my questions, and they were very clear about telling me what needed to be done. The owner (Mike) is one of those rare car geniuses (“a mechanic’s mechanic”), and I felt very comfortable leaving my car with him. As a former auto mechanic myself, I tend to be more discerning than most people, and I ask a lot of questions when I have my car worked on, and Mike and his team exceeded my expectations. I can’t say enough good things about this shop. They are honest, hardworking, and very good at what they do. Your car will be in good hands with this shop.

    Mike and his team were exceptional! Today I visited Anywhere Automotive, met Mike, and needed a second opinion on a possible $2,000.00 Brake repair to my 2013 Ford Expedition. Mike and his crew pulled all 4 wheels, found that I still had over 50% pad life on all wheels although the rotors where worn, and not a concern at this time. Mike estimated at my current driving habits I still had another 30,000 plus miles left on my brakes. I was absolutely dumbfounded that the previous shop, personal friends of mine, would be so devious to take advantage of a customer and long time friend. On top of this, Mike said there would be no charge for this inspection. What a quality way to conduct business and the superb ethics of professionalism. From today on, I will be a future customer for all my auto needs, and strongly recommend this business to all my friends and acquaintances
